We're thrilled to share the news that Ben Anderson is joining Resend.
Today, we're excited to share that Ben Anderson is joining the team. Ben is based in London, UK and has previously built operating infrastructure at startups, most recently at Treecard.
We’re thrilled to have him join us to build our vendor, finance, and compliance operations as Resend continues to scale and of course, as a new member of the Resend Running Club.
How did you get into operations?
I started my career at larger corporate companies, but it didn't take long to realise that environment wasn't for me. I wanted to be somewhere faster-paced, more hands-on, and where I could work on different challenges all the time.
I found the world of startups and it was exactly what I was looking for. Operations felt like a natural fit because it sits at the centre of everything. You're not confined to a single function and you get exposure across the business, real ownership, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact. No two weeks look the same, and that's what drew me in and what has kept me here since.
What does your desktop/home screen look like?
A snap from my recent trip to Kyoto, Japan. I'm sure it'll be covered in screenshots, files, and folders soon though 🥲

Why are you at Resend?
Resend's growth speaks for itself, but what really stood out to me was the team behind it. The calibre of people here, and the care they put into building both the product and the culture, was hard to ignore.
I also loved how open Resend is in the way it operates. The values, philosophy, and decision-making process are all out in the open. That level of transparency is rare, and it gave me a lot of confidence that this was the kind of company I wanted to help build.
Where do you find #inspiration?
When I'm stuck on something or need to clear my head, I find that getting moving with a run or a walk outdoors helps me to get back on track. Something about having no screen in front of me and a good podcast in my ears often gives me a new angle on whatever I’m trying to figure out. I come back with more clarity than I'd get from sitting at my desk thinking harder.
If you weren't operating, what would you be doing?
Teaching, maybe. It runs in my family and I've always considered myself a clear communicator who enjoys helping people understand more challenging problems and topics. I think there's something really rewarding about taking something complicated and making it simple and accessible. Maybe I’ll give it a go one day!
Favorite tool?
1Password.
In the world of ops, I’m not sure how I'd manage without it.
Favorite hotkey?
Command + F
To cut through the noise.
Favorite place to visit?
Anywhere in the Alps. It's hard to beat spending a week surrounded by incredible scenery, eating great food, and doing something you love with friends and family. Good for the soul.
Advice for ambitious operators?
Be hungry for ownership, especially early in your career. Don't be afraid to take on more responsibility than your job description suggests. That's often how you discover what energises you, what you're good at, and where you can have the biggest impact. At the same time, learn how to prioritise ruthlessly. Opportunities are everywhere, but your time and attention have limits.
The other thing: surround yourself with great operators and mentors. Operations is a discipline where you can learn a lot independently, but there's enormous value in seeing how experienced people approach problems, make decisions, and navigate ambiguity. Find people who have solved challenges you haven't faced yet, and learn from them whenever you can.
